i am like a squirrel

in that

i am easily distracted.

you put an iced coffee in my hands,

and i forget everything but my love for you.

however,

the squirrel and i are different,

too.

see, the squirrel has tasks

to focus on.

nuts to crack, trees to climb;

the distraction,

for him,

is a bad thing.

all i have

to be distracted from

is sadness,

so
